“Phx Zine Fest is an annual gathering, started in 2016, for DIY Small Press enthusiasts who create and enjoy zines, perzines, political pamphlets, indie comics, photo zines and the like. Arizona has a lot of creativity to offer and Phx Zine Fest provides the space to show it off! The mission of Phx Zine Fest is to encourage local creators to share their unique ideas and perspectives, often ones that are underrepresented in mainstream media. This mission is more important than ever, as many media outlets prioritize divisiveness over giving voice to historically silenced groups. Phx Zine Fest welcomes everyone to join in on the excitement of DIY publishing, and especially strives to create safer spaces for Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and LGBTQIA+ creators and visitors.”

In 2025, Phoenix Zine Fest - PZF had:

123 Applicants

49% Returning to PZF
51% New to PZF
90 AZ Locals
33 Out of State

88 Total Vendors

7 Sponsors

7 Organizers

30 Volunteers

Templates

Each vendor is featured on the @phxzinefest Instagram account with the date they are vending and a bio. For efficiency and consistency across the graphics, especially with volunteers, a template was necessary for posting all the vendor graphics within our timeline.

Completed graphics are then scheduled into Later - a social media management software, a new addition to our social media process. Implementing this software saved hours of time and allowed us to schedule weeks in advance versus having to log in across multiple devices daily, to post graphics.

A template was also created for the social media scheduler as well as a schedule for which organizer/volunteers will be uploading which graphics.

To accompany mentioned templates, I created a thorough video tutorial that covers, in depth, the entire process from downloading the templates to posting to the @phxzinefest account. This was very helpful for giving volunteers and fellow organizers the confidence to hop in if needed.
